The story of Goddess Bhramari is a profound narrative from the Devi Bhagavata Purana.
The demon Arunasur had become undefeated due to a boon granted to him. He could not be killed by any man or woman, nor by any biped or quadruped, nor by any combination of the two. Furthermore, he specified that his death could not occur during a war or by any conventional weapon. He also acquired a massive army to fight the devas, which eventually allowed him to defeat them.
In distress, all the gods sang hymns of praise to the Divine Mother. Responding to their prayers, the divine mother Goddess manifested as the Goddess Bhramari. She manifested an infinite swarm of black bees to destroy Arunasur and restore balance to the universe.
